Our History

The Forge Club was founded in 1969 by DLO and Jack Spearing along with a group of investors. It was built as a private club on vacant parcel of  farm land. The Spearings loved their club, and the many years of elegant food and service, provided in a relaxed atmosphere, was their reward. The Pigati family now owns the Club and continue the Spearing's traditions. They also own the Del Rio in Highwood, Illinois, their ninety-year old Italian restaurant.

In addition to the Club Bar, there are four dining rooms within the Club.  The Governors Room is a small private dining room appropriate for small business and family events, and seats from six to sixteen guests.  The Scotch Room displays one of the country's largest Scotch Bottle collections and provides a unique atmosphere for groups of twenty to forty-five.  The Wine Room, which was the Club's original dining room, accommodates groups up to seventy-five, and has a baby grand piano should entertainment be part of your program.  The Garden Room is the Club's principal dining space and can be arranged in a variety of configurations, for meetings, banquets, receptions and other social events for as many as two hundred persons.
